Want to put down some thoughts about the “no speak English” chapter. Apologies for any spoilers this may have. But I think this chapter is simply so captivating because the mother was worried about losing her own heritage because she is in a foreign country. And yet there isn’t much she can do to maintain her heritage. She is forced to learn English, and her child might lose their roots - assimilation
