this feels like a "tell rather than show". dont describe people's character, show it through their dialogue, their manners. dick(head)ens is lacking there

its so bad, the past and present versions dont connect, the characters are a mess

they have fallen into the gross but common error of confounding the unusual with the abtruse

the depth lies in the valleys where we seek her (truth) and not on the mountain tops where she is found.

by undue profundity, we perplex and enfeeble thought
