Had this one on my shelf for ages! So glad I picked it up, Adam Kay is hilarious

Picked this up without realising it was book 23 of a series.... thought I'd give it a go and if I liked it then I'd go back and pick up the first one.
However, 30% of the way through the book and they haven't even started investigating the dead body. I feel like I'd appreciate the character stuff a lot more if I had read the preceeding books.
Think I'm gonna DNF this one and perhaps pick up the first in the series

This book is great, I picked it up when taking a break from another book that I wasn't getting along with and am so happy I did.

The author really brings you into the mindset of someone finding themself within a cult and alludes to the warning signs of cult mentality brilliantly

Taking a break.... I went straight from finishing the emperors knife to reading this and though it is a direct follow up, it's following different characters and I just couldn't get into it.

Going to read something else and circle back to see if it's me or the book

Loving this so far, the framing device is brilliant and intriguing. Can't wait to see how it ends
