Very fast paced actually, Calen was as annoying as I expected him to be which I suppose is normal for protagonists' his age, especially at the first book of a trilogy. But I liked it. Plus it has dragons

I'll say it doesn't suffer from the sequel syndrome at all. High stakes as always and lots of nautical jargons but I enjoyed it as much as the first one
