I’m already loving it

The female character seems so flat to me. Ojos de miel oscura, figura esbelta, okay I got it. Why is Ricardo so obsessed with her? I know I might have an unpopular opinion, but I don't like either of them. Her, because his descriptions of her are extremely superficial. Him, because he is obsessed with somebody for no apparent reason apart from his superficial preferences.

Not sure what to think about it. The prose is clear and beautiful but the motivation of the protagonist is just not relatable enough for me to understand his actions.
