I can’t believe I ever thought I couldn’t and wouldn’t enjoy classics 😍😩😍

I thought this was supposed to be like the best “haunting” story ever… the OG?!

It’s not even remotely scary, there’s been ONE scare that was essentially a cheap jump scare and that was the ONLY scene in over 3/4 of the book.

I’m having the most miserable time having a time finding a good gothic/ghosty booook

Okay, so I’m sorry I just donnnnnnt understand the hype. I’ve tried reading this like 10x and this is the furthest I’ve gotten. It’s fine but in my opinion it’s not binge worthy. I’m going to have to read in small bites to stay interested bc for the most part I just don’t care 😂🫣😳

This is a book on my 26 for 2026 and I'm so glad! I have loved everythingggg from this author and I've heard nothing but great things about this trilogy-- but the blurp on the back of the book really intimidated me thinking it would be too intense and too political. But this is an easy 5 star already. I absolutely love the writing, the academy setting, and strong young female character. Think Mulan but super bad @ss!

Honestly this is going to easily be one of my favorite books of the year if not my best read overall. Excellent world building, writing and is hard to put down. I love reading a book where I’m thinking about the characters when I’m not reading. 😍

Super atmospheric… I love the snowy, cold, Swiss Alps setting. Perfect for a winter read without the overdone holiday theme. Loving it so far, I think it will either take an obvious turn or it’ll totally throw me for a loop!

You ever read a book so good that you don’t want to read it and you put it off because you don’t want it to end…
