well... this was a read.
a poem about the duality of two cities and about women.. yet the way women are portrayed is ... abysmal
but thats a given the writer and how he sees women in his books as an object, though he tries here to make up for it, to glorify it (it refers to the woman.mainly harrouda.. he tries to shift from that objectification when it comes to his mother.. but only slightly)
good prose effort

an interesting retrospective. a logbook of what goes in behind the scenes of a social worker's life and the struggle of many communities in the country. really eye opening and very raw.
that being said, some of the language seemed off and harmful. some orientalist pov, a lot of weird descriptions, which i believe were coming from a raw real place, but couldn't help but "cringe" and turned me off the reading.
