I had preordered the book! It hasn’t released yet but I somehow received it today!!!

Loan period was up on this one. Will continue when I get it again.

This is a much easier read than most western or southern American literature I’ve read.

It took time to get used to the flow. Into it now! It’s engaging.

Borrowed four books from the library: My Name is Asher Lev by Chaim Potok, Dispatches by Michael Herr, Warlock by Oakley hall, and Picnic at hanging rock by Joan Lindsay

If I read it without emotions, I feel like “what does it have to do with me?” “I don’t relate to it at all”
But this author’s writing has the power to immerse you in his protagonist’s mind. Deeply feel for him and for things around him, keeping you utterly engaged. Brilliant!

I love how Reuven’s character is written. It makes you feel attached to him as a person. Potok’s writing is so engaging.

What a brilliant start to the book. I couldn’t have guessed it’s a debut novel.

Read first couple of pages and I’m enchanted. I don’t read fantasy often. I’m glad that it’s this I picked up.

Love these kinds of books. Just sketches of people and places.
