insane and i love it

listening to the audiobook narrated by the author, which is undoubtedly the right choice, but at the cost of not being able to highlight all of the stunning lines i want to slowly absorb and remember forever :/

my audiobook has a nice violin backing track for dramatic flair 🪳

i saw a lot of people complaining about the middle of this book dragging on, but i’m liking it more and more as it goes on. the beginning a was a bit repetitive; now i feel like we’re really learning about our characters.

nothing i love more than a small cast of unsympathetic characters struggling in creative ways

i don’t think im actually ready for this but i don’t determine when i read a book — my Libby hold queue does.

i am basking in this lovely honeymoon fluffiness and i never want it to end. oh how i loathe plot structure and the inevitability of a conflict to rain on a very glorious parade.

okay i was struggling to get through the first quarter or so and i almost put it down, just thinking it’s not for me, but i’m glad i didn’t. now that we have a thread of romance to focus on i’m really enjoying it. actually stayed up past 2am reading the penpal dialogues.

started reading this at Denny’s and immediately became unreasonably anxious. is it the book? is it the coffee? is it the Denny’s???

literally taking college English 101 level notes this time to keep all the characters straight (which i failed to do for The Idiot and quickly was drowning in long Russian names my idiot brain couldn’t hang on to)
