I’m enjoying this book so far, the two main characters ran into each other again from being separated for a year when Esmeralda went into hiding at the circus.

Wait, this bitch doesn’t play the violin for 6 yrs until so is taken and imprisoned in the Labyrinth… Gives up her ability to play music to the gods so she can save SW and all of a sudden she’s heart broken she can’t play?!

Wait, you survived Labyrinth, SW got ‘got’ w/ Sleep’s magical🗡️(all of a sudden Prince B has god🗡️out of nowhere)you wait a mth before asking EW to help SW wake up + you wait at least 6 mths to get💍after the new baby prince is born b/c your SIL just happens to be🤰🏾when you’re captured.

… But I haven’t really felt that from the text, it’s just the character constantly saying it. And I’m like, no, I feel nothing for you, even if you ramble about it for three pages. Like, the build up was not there. Don’t tell me how to feel.

I feel like the author is trying really hard to explain to me as the reader through the characters emotions -how I should think or feel. Like This FMC has an irritating way of arguing about EVERYTHING… EVERYTHING, and she has an absolutely terrible personality. But she’s trying to make it seem like her father made her feel this way, as not loved and forced to fit a role as princess…

I understand the desire of wanting to be with someone AFTER you survive a crisis - maybe somewhat during the event as “I don’t want to die without loving you”, but this spicy scene took way too long… *Taps on the shoulder, ma’am, your country and lives are at stake, you don’t have time to take a siesta after spicy time… Oop, too late, the big bad is loose. Now you’re running for your lives again.

Ok, we are stuck in the Labyrinth… I’d say, leave Sarai there.

She never told him she was going to die and now here she is poisoned by a flower!!

A flying surfboard? *insert eye roll*

So far feels reminiscent of Aladdin if it had a baby with Sleeping Beauty
