For every author this is a tantalizing time: You work four years, sometimes around the clock, and now your book is packed up in boxes that are, even now, being delivered and unpacked at stores around the U.S. If you believe in your material, and I do, it's a thrill to know people will soon be taking in details you spent so much time gathering.
