I changed my mind about this book; the inauthenticity and delusion of the protagonist are the best part! love it

The narrator is so horribly un likeable that it detracts from the story

This book has page 76 dedicated to what to do if there is an active shooter in the workplace.

This seems like “filler” content to me. Much of the content here is useful, but it also so wide and general, often relating to very basic concepts. I’m at 3 stars at this time, but could see it going up or down as I read on.

Has me dreaming always of Ibiza, the sea.
Has me always thinking of the unexplainable and that force’s unique beauty in life beyond the simple comfort of predictability

Decent but sort of predictable. Love the Icelandic setting

I’m almost halfway through this lengthy read and every page has been breathless and left me eager for more. Never has a story kept me so engaged, for so long, without exhausting me.

The beauty of this book is as ridiculous as it is, as a Florida native I know every single crazy event is feasible

Really bizarre… I kind of fear this is, unfortunately, a book that only fell into my lap (and critical acclaim) because it seeks to address a topic that nobody else has been able to fictionalize yet in the mainstream, and not because it actually does it in a meaningful way. But we’ll see:

Simple, moving, and astonishing in that the author is able to put in writing thoughts that I’ve had yet couldn’t express

This is a very special perspective from American history imo
