I'm just under a quarter of the way through this book and so far nothing has happened other than the FMC painting a few bugs...

I feel like this is a recurring theme I have had with the T. Kingfisher books I've read so far. They've all been so incredibly slow and nothing seems to happen until maybe the last 2 chapters...

I'm halfway through and not much has happened in this book other than the main character sorting out the house and drinking copious amounts of coffee...

The "effigy" has shown up twice, though briefly, and those are probably the best parts of the book so far. And the scenes were maybe 2 or 3 pages long each, if that..

Definitely a slow starter.. 🐌
Does it get better?

If anything happens to this damn dog I swear to god... 😤
