Enjoying this a bit more now but the writing does feel very clunky and YA.

I'm really not sure about this 😕🥱

Giving this another read because it's been a while and if I pick up another book with clunky writing I'll end up in a reading slog.

God this premise has so much potential but the execution so far is falling short. There's elements of repetition that are just so unnecessary and make it seem 'clunky' to read. The FMC has referenced Scarlet Letter and Handmaid's Tale so many times I've lost count. And some of the dialogue feels like it's a pushed agenda of the correct way to speak to someone, it makes the characters seem one dimensional and bland.

Absolutely loving this so far and it's driving me mad that I can't binge read the whole thing in one go!

I just don't have a bloody clue what's going on, this book is a fever dream 😵‍💫

Read chapters 1-8 for an impromptu friend book club and absolutely loved it and gutted I have to wait before I can read more 😭
