Listening on audible. Side note: I think it’s a really good book but the audible reader is fucking me up. If I hadn’t gotten the first two on audible as a deal I would have instead read this on kindle or got a physical copy but I like to make the most of my credits so here we are listening to the second book on audible. *I do not recommend the audible of this series* Thanks for reading my rant if you did.

Might DNF bc I’m not hooked. I’m halfway thru (6 hours left) so do I give up or keep going??? After reading the 1-3 star reviews I realize I’m not the problem but still deciding if I want to give the rest a chance or move on with my life

it’s not that the book is bad. It’s a combo of my attention span, this is the longest book I’ve ever attempted reading, the classic style of writing, the fact that I be trying to read 3 books at once, and a book slump halfway through bc….Netflix. This book has been taking me MONTHS to read but it’s amazing so far and actually quite humorous in many parts. Almost finished!!!

I’m only halfway through the book 🥴 wanted to write my think piece while it’s fresh on my mind lol.

First of all the contrast between Dantés and Monte Cristo is… wild. We’re talking about the same man here. I’m still figuring out how I feel about the vengeful Monte Cristo. but then I think of what the innocent Dantés endured for more than half his life and then I’m fascinated with his arc.

Second read but listening as audible so I can refresh and read Broken Dove

I’m annoyed actually. I know Nina is a crazy schizo byatch but for Millie to shamelessly homewreck their marriage?? And the way Andrew broke up with Nina and kicked her out, then immediately says he wants to see how things go with Millie… triflin! Idk I’m gagged rn. I don’t agree with how this played out. Could have had more class about it. Infidelity is already messy.
