really enjoy all the stories from people they meet and the historical context added, especially in the japan chapter.

he uses so many words I genuinely don’t know, and it’s so nice how randomly ornate he can be with his words. Keeping a little dictionary on the margins. Also this books is printed SO nicely, my copy (with the white/red cover and the black and white pic) is lovely and has great big margins.

this book is legit so funny, like laugh out loud funny

still loving it, although I feel like some of the timelines are written weirdly. They match up, it just feels like someone along the editing process forgot to link together chapters that were written probably weeks apart
