needed to add an update just to say i adore the little snippet of convo between spook and suzy’s mum when she’s drunk crying about her little girl growing up and he’s like nodding yea yea but u gotta see this bike when i fix it up all good it’ll be great

Just finished part 2 and started part 3.

Overall thoughts is this book is incredible. So vivid and powerfully written, you are immersed in this world it feels truly real and I have to remind myself it is of course fictional and awe at the heartbreakingly raw thumping prose of selby.

Out of space so: part 2 was a beautifully heartbreaking chaos through the benzos induced dream scape of georgettes mind just wow

so far loving this book. although it has been a while since reading her previous works i am enjoying this one far more (even more than normal people maybe!!) although maybe this book just feels more right to be reading at this point in time. although a more cynical me could find the exhaustive descriptions of events mundane i do appreciate the fly on the wall approach to the storyline and the authenticity it produces
