The first two books were solid good reads, the third is a bit of a death march...

Rooting for the Orcs so far.

I am about halfway through the book and wow, while the story is very good the main characters are a collection of the most unlikable jerks in existence. Perhaps three out of all the characters are even slightly sympathetic, the rest are vain, egomaniacal, sanctimonious tools on a galactic level.

About half-way through, and a nice read thus far, heavy on the science but understandable. As an aside, JBF is one of the most easily hateable, reprehensible characters that I have seen in a recent book.
