Amazing, now I understand why this author was such a renowned one! I can't remember how many pages led me to cry. An honest, cruel story about the second world war.

It was a great book for people who likes slow-paced books. I could enjoy it due to the mythological parts and the women gaze. However, if you're expecting female warriors, action, war scenes, building an empire as a woman etc. you could look for another book. That was my only issue, I expected a female warrior story but it was more or less a coming of age (tho she is thousands years old) story of a witch.
