Truthfully feel like the book needed a little more editing before publishing. The sentences feel like run-ons. And I can’t follow the train of thought

Finally getting to see more of Obinze’s life. A bit disappointed that we aren’t able to see what it was like for him within the past five years that Ifem ghosted him.

So far, I’m completely invested in Ifemelu’s life and what she’s gone through during her time in America.

It was heartbreaking seeing Ifem sink deeper into depression and not fully being able to understand it.

“Depression was what happened to Americans, with their self-absolving need to turn everything into an illness” … “Did things begin to exist only when they were named” (194-195).
