I’m loving this book. So well written with three dimensional characters deeply woven into a nail biting crime thriller that treads on black comedy.

I’ve heard great things about AC and certainly get what people like about his writing. He writes in the POV of his characters, however, there is an independent narrators voice on top. Unfortunately, I’m discovering that AC’s style comes with a healthy amount Tell (Show and Tell) and for me this pushes the reader out of the immersion. I’m also finding the characters 2 dimensional and I’ve not connected.

I've gotten halfway through this book and I honestly don't know what all the fuss has been about. I'm a bit disappointed with the slow pace of the first half and have had to put it down as it became a tiring read with a poor plot and not much happening. There are bits of magic in the story and it becomes interesting and then all of sudden stops. I have moved onto another book and could return to this later.

The Three Body Problem really intrigued me and I loved the science and the concepts of the story and all the scenarios that could develop in the events that occur in the book. It left me wanting to know where the storyline could go in a sequel.

Cixin Liu did not disappoint in The Dark Forest as the storyline really develops and explores ideas and concepts that you will not see coming. You will not be disappointed.!
