Love was not inherently good

Poets would tell you that love was electricity in your veins that could light a room. That it was a river in ur soul to lift you up and carry you away, or a fire inside the heart to keep you warm. Yet electricity could also fry, river could drown, and fires could burn; love could be destructive. Punishingly, fatally destructive.

The “love” story between Gaia and Sam is rushed, and doesn’t make any sense. There was literally no buildup besides love at first sight or wtver. I’m all for cliche love stories but this one is just a big no for me. Anyways, everything else I’m eating it up. The absent CIA dad/ guardian angel, the evil twin brother obsessed with control, the friend who’s hopelessly in love with the main character…yum!

Reading this in my book club and omg I just finished chapter 3 and it’s already got me hooked!

This whole book is a plot twist. It’s giving pg version of GOT. The world building? Pristine 🤌

Um excuse me?! Chapter 43 and 44 whatt?! Mary E Pearson is the definition of a master manipulator cuz how did I not realize she never revealed who was the assassin and who was the prince?!! I just assumed I knew and even thought it was OBVIOUS.I have never been played so hard in my life.It is literally so genius tho since the main POVs are not only hiding the real identities from eachother BUT FROM THE READERS TOO

The start was a little rough bcuz I wasn’t really hooked, but after the storyline started to unfold more I literally haven’t been able to put it down.
