I really resonate with John, but part of me still wants the comfort of the world he pushes against. I think it’s because I don’t really know life without heartbreak and angst, so it feels familiar. Someone once told me that pain changes the way you experience art, like it makes poetry hit differently. I don’t know. It just feels true for me.
