It was an easy, somewhat fluffy romp with an interesting and often-believable B-Plot. While the main characters came across to me at times as slightly below perfect, I felt their "flaws" (such that they were) were present enough to not seem Mary-Sue-ish. It's very easy in romance to write characters like that, even unintentionally, but I think Pamela Clare wrote the characters in such a way as to largely avoid that.
