Having a hard time staying engaged with the plot but the setting is very descriptive and atmospheric

I get some fumbles when you’re coming out in a “regularly” homophobic world (even a world with magic and mages witches and cats with wings…) but dang sis I’m reading a fantasy book for the fAnTaSY of magic and wlw being accepted not just “tolerated behind closed doors because I don’t care what you do in your bedroom” don’t ask don’t tell BS

A slow start

I fear I might have to DNF this book. The concept is so good and there are a bunchhhhhhhh of really important conversations in this book that could help some of the typical readers of this genre… understand what they’re saying or supporting when it comes to annihilating certain groups of people or countries… love the meta morals of this book I’m just having a really hard time following along and keeping up.

Some tropes are tropes for a reason and Leo is grumpy with a soft underbelly to a T reminds me *exactly* of so many other grumpy MMCs

This audio book is just words in my ears

Reading this line on holocaust Remembrance Day it’s so interesting because of the parallels going on in America with ICE. never again should mean never again to anyone not just Jews.

Overwritten with detail a little bit but maybe only because I heard the ending is effing crazy so I am eager to speed read/listen but I feel like you should enjoy the wordiness, but I’m just feeling impatient because I don’t wanna read about more child neglect and abuse

The cannibalism I can deal with it’s the “special kisses” I’m not so sure about (aka child abuse marks)

Not to be mean but this book was either written by AI or someone whose never been in a relationship before or met a woman

Did I miss something? Is this set in the 40s? Why is this the worst communicating couple I have ever read about.
