Oooh apparently I am indeed nerdy enough to dig this 📚

(Main pairing reminds me a teeny bit of Emily Wilde. Also I love the storytelling style, but I mean it’s R. F. Kuang so no surprise there)

Okay I immediately get the hype… this is very hard to put down

Devouring this book in a kind of awestruck horror

(Hard to discuss unspoilerly, but the combo of dramatic irony, character development, and parallels to our own world have me staring at a wall)

So far I’m thinking: recommended if you enjoy deftly written queer memoirs, must-read if you’ve also experienced brain injury.

I’m thinking of getting a copy and sharing with family (…with a disclaimer re: the attention-grabbing title)

Agh. I loved The Atlas Six, and somewhat enjoyed The Atlas Paradox… but I’ve struggled to finish #3 for literal months. Sheer stubbornness is carrying me through at this point.

I’ve found Blake’s hyper-intellectualized prose charming before, incl. in the earlier Atlas books, but I’m finding it nearly intolerable in this one—and IMO there are several deeply unsatisfying character decisions made. 😭

I’m entertained (it’s Alexis Hall)—but also omg as the “slight controlling overachiever” type myself, the narrator is insufferable 😭 and I wouldn’t want to manage (or date, or house, or trust) him IRL. Like. Seriously?? Buuuut he has a decent heart & cute cat & entertaining lil posse of employees so I guess I’m in this and hoping it somehow works out without disaster

Re-reading three years later (this time audiobook) and finding it just as impressive, resonant, and cuttingly creative.

Mixed feelings on this one so far
