Binged twice to get this far but had to stop because I could see the big mistake coming from a page away and wanted to linger in my happiness just a little bit longer.

Dang it. I love this book. (Also tell me why this previous chapter I just finished was an hour-long read)

The hard-cover book is HUGE. It’s gonna take some time for me to finish it. But I’ve got some time, actually, so it works out. So far, Bel and her dad Charlie are amazing. Love them. Fighting for them. But it’s also too early to be on someone’s side, I think.

Stop it I love Wes. I thought it would be difficult to read this book because after the first chapter I knew the ending (I’m guessing, but I’m 99.9% sure I’m right) but the characters are great. It’s a mix of Wattpad and regular teenage romance. So basically published Wattpad with no typos.

Okay, that’s enough chaotic thoughts for tonight. (Chaotic by my MC - but at least she knows it.)

Why is this boy so much better: “Seeing your past…can be physically painful…But she doesn’t remind me of the past, for some reason. She feels present tense.”

I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS GIRL

Oh this poor soul of Aza. This depicts the mind of anxiety and hyper-fixation very well.

This is a book I wanted to read in 2024, but I never made it that far down that list (I finished every other book EXCEPT this one) and I’m already really excited to read this. What’s throwing me off is trying to figure out what will be the main conflict: Aza’s germaphobia? The mystery case? A possible romance? It’s hard to tell; but I’ve also read John Green’s books before and it could be anything.

This book is crazy. I love it. And little Haymitch is so precious that I’m scared.

Crazy. It got propaganda-coded real quick.

This is introduced as a stand-alone book, but it has so much info from We Were Liars and even Family of Liars that it would be hard to read it without have already read the first book.

“The only thing I can think to do is try to make him want to come back…” Kids need the attention of their parents. It’s the best free gift they can give. Give your time. And give your attention. It’s fundamental to their brain development and worldview.

Not sure where the plot is going, but I think I really like the characters.

Crazy twists. And then more twists on top of those.

The plot is still moving very slowly. I don’t know how this book could end. I mean, I have my predictions, but honestly anything could happen.

Cadence really is ignorant; thank goodness Gat can explain things to her from an outsider’s POV. And even then she asks for pity. I have to remember she’s going through a rough patch.

Gat is too good for the Sinclair’s, and thank goodness Cadence knows it, too.

Doing a re-read because I bought the other two books in the series.

Dang, seeing into the mind of Snow is making everything in this series make sense.

Snow is presented so differently from what I expected.

I’ve never been more confused. What is this PLOT?

I read a big chunk, so 1) Johanna and Katniss make an amazing team, 2) these poor teens had been so broken it’s sad to see these circumstances mature them so early, and 3) there’s a lot of great detail and scenes I never knew about in this book and I’m loving it.

When the little synopsis says “I’m Katniss, why am I not dead” it’s so true. This is probably the 7th or 8th time she’s been put in the medic room just at where I stopped. Girl can’t catch a break no matter where she goes, in or out of the bunker.

This is a longer book that I thought. But what’s the plot besides genuinely “figuring out what’s going on?” Are all sci-fi books like this?

Sci-fi books like these usually drive me insane, and it still might.

I’ve got Passenger and Insterstellar vibes already. I don’t think I’ve ever read a Sci-Fi book before (except for the forced read of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea after 9th grade)

Our dear Katniss is so strong - yet I can see the emotions and mental pain and struggle she’s been through.
