Just a bit of light reading before I go to work **proceeds to read about a “morbid school” with a history of murder and kidnappings**

I started my “Halloween-themed” mystery book just a little too late, but I’ll try to finish it before November ends.

The Boss Fight is coming. I wish I could binge it, but I gotta go to work.

Didn’t expect this twist, but okay. Let’s see how Alosa will get out of this one.

Dang, these past three chapters were kinda dark.

Riden was pretty sweet (character-wise) in the first book, but he’s actually much sweeter in this sequel.

Same heroine, but we finally get to meet her crew. They’re amazing, so far.

If this is the resolution, it’s much longer than I thought it’d be. Like there’s 54min left in the book. (Note from the future: it was only that long because there’s an excerpt from the sequel at the end)

Ngl, that “great escape” was a little weird, but I can see how it was meant to work.

Posting these comments late cas I didn’t have access to my Goodreads acc.: (66%) I can’t believe the twist that I knew was coming ALSO had a twist that I didn’t catch.

Five “one more chapter’s” have led me here. At 2 in the morning.

Enwen must be my favorite character in the book so far. He’s comic relief but also sweet. “That’s a bootlace, Enwen.” Never were his spirits dampened.

So Riden..?

Well, we’re jumping right in, now aren’t we. (No intro, just action and a little backstory between the dialogue.)

I did a 2-hr binge sesh and I’m not sure if I should just read to the end, read one more 5-min chapter, or call it a night.

Lily is me. I am Bree’s older sister Lily trying to talk sense into a stubborn younger sister.

Starr’s family is strangely beautiful. I can see the close ties between them. This is also a great first couple of pages; I always appreciate well-done introductions to stories.

Okay, the title of the book is just now coming into play.

I'm already so mad at Adam, and every time his name pops up I get even more furious with him. He's really an emotional drag while everyone else here is trying to fight a WAR... like chill OUT. Ok, let's finish this book.

So we finally got all the emotions out the way, hopefully. We gotta get started on the WAR; war waits for no one’s feelings, team. Get planning. What war is being accomplished while 3 hours left in the book..?

Holy cow I LIVE for Chapter 25. How do I marry Kenji? (Jkjk, boy’s got a potty-mouth loll)

Chapter 16 is full of hilarious dialogue between Kenji and Juliette, and it’s my favorite. I love it. I love them.

Just when I think she can’t get any more dramatic: “I am an hourglass.” (I love her, but oh my gosh.)

Finally finished a short story in this collection that I got stuck on. It ended up being a decent story. Only three more short stories left.

Darn it, I really like Warner.

I want to throw a cardboard box at Bree's head. That being said, I can't read on anymore this evening because their blindness is driving me mad. I'll try again in a week.

Lovingly and respectfully, I want to binge this book so that I can get it off my to-read list because the friend-zone relationship with BOTH POVs is driving me insane. I'm really hoping this plot picks up, too.

Kenji just gave Juliette the toughest, most brutally-honest pep talk, and I admire him so much for it. Because her behavior was getting on my nerves, too tbh.

So do we like Adam or Warner? I’ve seen both names circling around BookTok. At this point I don’t trust either of them.
