I’ve got Passenger and Insterstellar vibes already. I don’t think I’ve ever read a Sci-Fi book before (except for the forced read of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea after 9th grade)

Our dear Katniss is so strong - yet I can see the emotions and mental pain and struggle she’s been through.

Some of this stuff is really saddening to read about. Not profoundly upsetting as if it were poetic, but just very raw and to-the-point. Everyone handles pain differently, but it always helps to have someone who can be by your side through it.

I couldn’t figure out why I already liked the book by the first two chapters, and then I realized… WATTPAD VIBES! We’re so back - the nostalgic part of me that’s still 13 years old craves it. // All jokes aside, the first handful of chapters are a really good set-up to the story, with no fillers, which is a characteristic of those Wattpad fanfics I used to read.

Broken girl vibes are heavy; but rightly so for a 17-year-old who went through some trauma.

Easing my way through the ending just because it’s been really busy this week - otherwise I would’ve finished this a couple of days ago.

Nicholas Sparks is dat you - I just read a chunk that reminds me of my time reading his books. Maybe a dash of John Green.

These two were kinda interesting before but now they’re stressing me out.

Gosh, you can’t trust anyone in this world of 1984. I hope that’s not the world we’ll come to.

The amount of brainwashing that’s present in this book is lowkey terrifying.

The amount of times I’ve felt my heart stop from shock due to the insane lore dropped from this dystopian novel proves to show the reasons why this book is banned in some countries. But let me hear more; I gotta know how it ends.

Gosh where was Madge in the movies

I’m in love with these characters. I see the movie in my head when I read but I’m getting so much more detail that’s making me love this world even more. I hate that it took me so long to read this series; I love it 😩

Tbh I didn’t think I’d like this one but now I can’t stop reading. It’s honesty mid but also I gotta know what happens.

How is this gonna get solved…

Dang this is a really good audiobook; there’s music and great voice acting. And the story is pretty intriguing, too.

Hmm I wonder who’s gonna find a suspect.

Peeta is the smooth talker in this book.

Reading this is making me realize how true to the story the movies made this. I just see more of Katniss’ perspective in this one.

“I think bravery is holding on for that one more minute.” Just one more minute - resilience and strength.

“True friendship is bigger than any problems we face.” - paraphrased cas I didn’t catch the word-for-word.

So Katniss really dislikes Peeta and Haymitch.

Listening to some trauma happening while cleaning - these dear girls :(

The author describes Aeliyah (I actually don’t know how to spell her name since I’m listening to an audiobook) and her mom as short but their words are big and tall, and I can’t say I’ve seen that metaphor in a book before. Or I just don’t remember.

I thought I’d learn more about the other tributes before the Games but I guess I’ll have to find out in the arena. 🤷‍♀️

I’m seeing so much of Katniss’ personality shine through, but I’m starting to understand the story more because of it.

Why is the book describing President Snow as skinny and small (I know the book was first but my movie brain is not getting it)

Already, so much detail in the first couple of pages, but most of it is stuff I also got from the movie. (This is gonna be hard - the movies were so good.)
