Somewhat disjointed and a bit of a different feel than the rest of the series. Still a fun read if you have made it this far.

Finished the first four chapters. I don't know how much I'll get from this book, but it is written well and has lots of good information. Really good for an entry level dba or for a developer looking to learn more about how to interact with databases.

I've finished Chapters 1 - 6 of 10. It's been a pretty easy read so far, but you can tell that the chapters were written by different authors.

Completed water method man. Now on to the shorter 158 pound marriage.

Just finished Setting Free The Bears. Hopefully the next two are better.

Made it through the first four chapters of the book. So far it has been a fast and easy read with some useful information. Rodney is a great guy and I enjoy his writing...

I just finished part one, and it seems a little too over the top. A toddler less than one years old fending for himself, hiding out and teaching himself multiple languages and to read by the time he is four, all while starving and malnourished? At least it reads fairly well, and I'm looking forward to the rest of it.

Started this one a few days ago. I don't think it is as good as Ender's game or Speaker for the Dead, but it isn't as bad as Xenocide. We'll see how it ends...

Beginning was a little slow, but the middle section has picked up quite a bit.

Interesting story to this point. Irving definitely seems like he has a checklist of items to include in each novel in new ways...

Just finished up with part 1, revolving around a cook and his son in a 50s logging community. So far so good!

Through chapter 6 and it is still good. Best chapter is still probably chapter 2...

Through chapters 1 - 3. Chapter 2 was a great description of perfmon counters needed for SQL Server. I wish I had read it last year.

About 4 and a half hours out of 6 on the abridged audio. Kind of wish I had just read it in print form. Good book so far.

Finished with Part 2 and through the first chapter of part 3. I think I shouldn't have set it aside for the past three weeks...

The introduction to the book was VERY well written. I'd recommend it even for people who have no intention of reading the book.

Interesting start to the story. Looking forward to a fast read.

Took me two attempts to get past the first chapter. Slowly getting hooked though :-)

Reading this in anticipation of my week long hike along the Appalachian trail next week.

So far really digging this one. It's got a great feel to it, pseudo horror, pseudo fantasy, great writing as always from wolfe.

Finished reading, on to practice tests and then the cert.

Still slow reading, no real excuse for it now. I'm on the tail end of the book but am having trouble keeping interest.

Not as many road trips where I can listen to this. I'm not enjoying this as much as other Irving books, but it seems to be getting good.
