this is cracking me up

liking the stories, generally a fan of sally rooney’s writing, not a fan of the email chapters, they keep pulling me out of the story

I love how she writes the descriptions of scenes/people/events/etc like the narrator is truly absorbing it as we are. like I don’t feel like the author is telling me what’s happening I feel like I’m inside of the main character who is in the street observing things? if that makes sense?

why is she so obsessed with Emerson

Unfortunately I don’t think I like this writing style…

Not sure why I’m reading this bc I don’t like her writing or books very much. already started with an #aitah reddit post and the main characters dm’ing over reddit…

I need to finish this by book club Thursday but me and Brittany keep watching the olympics instead…

So far I’ve been pleased to learn that there is a cast of characters (I was expecting just a woman and an octopus) and that the octopus does not speak.

This is much much better writing than the last book I read, HOWEVER I could use about 10% more plot-line (from someone who eats up a story with minimal/no plot)

Really struggling with the main character right now…

I’m not enjoying this! so I haven’t been reading. but now I’m stopping, because I remembered I don’t have to read it!

I am done with this book but I haven't finished it!
