In the edge of anything the authors writing style is not my favorite part. The author will switch topics very fast and you won’t get the other side of the story before moving on to a random next topic. The author maybe wrote this way because you may not need the other side or want it so you can take a side and make the story carry on better.

In the book the setting that doesn't make sense is the YMCA club when Sage goes to play volleyball after she was told she would maybe die or get hurt that could affect her life from playing a sport. The author may have wrote this to make you want to read more to find out about how it connects to Sage's story, yet it just seems a little out of place.

Adversity impacts the way others see you because some may not realize what might be going on in your life. Sage meets new friend Len and they are complete opposites. One day Sage calls Len over to the table. Sage's friends were confused so she said "give her a chance" (Carpenter 175). There are differences from hardships but it doesn't change who a person is. They both face challenges that now connected them.

In the book The Edge of Anything" the author shows the girls she wished she could've read about back in her dark times. The reasearch helped learn why this author wrote the book and it helps a better understanding. In the book Sage has a break down and runs outside, Len follows her from worry "I know it feels that way" (Carpenter 126). This shows the worry for the other person that the author wishes she couldve had.
