Now finished:
The Book of Leviticus (aka God lays out a bunch of new rules and punishments)
and
The Book of Numbers (aka lots of counting (and also lots of killing, and plagues))

The Book of Exodus.
The book where God shows off his terrifying power, gets far too pernickety in his rule-making, gives out detailed furniture instructions, branches off into fashion design and cookery, instigates a civil war, and declares himself a compassionate God.

2 books down, 64 to go!

Reading this alongside the Bible! He's got a chapter to match each of the books of the Bible.

Finished the Book of Genesis on 3rd Jan.

I've decided I'd like to read the Bible all the way through. (We'll see how far I get, but for the meantime I'm actually quite enjoying it!)

I'm reading it alongside Asimov's Guide to the Bible - a historical and geographical analysis (I'd been searching for a decent analysis from a historical or philosophical or literary angle, and when I saw Isaac Asimov's name I was immediately drawn in!)

Book of Genesis - done.

I'm on p185 and yet I have also already read the final page (p554) and although I'm on chapter 32 I have read a total of 88 chapters (out of 155). Makes it a little hard to keep track of how much I've read, but I'm hoping I'm on schedule - it's due back at the library next week!

I am enjoying taking this book slowly, reading about one philosopher each day day, first thing in the morning. Already it's opened many doors directing me to read about the interesting thoughts of so many fascinating women philosophers! Very much enjoying.

A bit difficult to tell exactly where I am since I was reading it in real time up till the end of winter (ish), meaning I'm simultaneously on p419, 467 and p607 of The Lord of the Rings trilogy!
But from now on I'm going to be trying to judge myself where the days coincide in the Middle Earth calendar (even if I am only reading into March at the moment) ... Confusing but hopefully I'll get there :)

I am finally caught up with the story in real time! The company are currently on their way from Rivendell to Moria, having set off on our Christmas day.
Absolutely lovely reading the book alongside this blog so far! https://lotrreadalong.wordpress.com/
