devoured half the book at work today.

I wasn’t particularly looking forward to this book because I assumed it’d be about romance (and I’m not one for stories that center romance)… but the additional Gethen history after Winter’s King and callbacks to Left Hand were absolutely fantastic. I was always curious about Gethen in the Ekumen after WK.

i am SO excited to read the novella about bobbie — i just discovered that was a thing?? i love my cogs in the machine

unfortunately, i feel like i can predict a major plot point by now, and we aren’t even halfway in. hopefully they’ll pull some crazy stuff to make it memorable…

also avasarala is amazing. i gotta say i really like all of the characters from both books so far.

i remember during the last book thinking amos was one-note… oh my god. i’m so excited. i know EXACTLY what they’re doing. IT’S CHARACTERIZATION TIME

i miss miller.

Now that I’ve finished my Instrument rating, hopefully I’ll make more progress.
