also avasarala is amazing. i gotta say i really like all of the characters from both books so far.

i remember during the last book thinking amos was one-note… oh my god. i’m so excited. i know EXACTLY what they’re doing. IT’S CHARACTERIZATION TIME

i miss miller.

Now that I’ve finished my Instrument rating, hopefully I’ll make more progress.

Taking a break from City of Illusions to reread The Three-Body Problem. I would say you have to be in a certain state of mind to read Le Guin. I’m currently in the midst of trying to convince my partner to read 3BP for the first time.

Holy age gap!

Per my last update - this is absolutely going the way I predicted. I'm going to curb my disappointment until I finish. I do enjoy AT's writing, so I'm keeping optimistic that there will be a twist.

Really hoping I’m not about to accurately predict the rest of the book. Praying on a miracle.

Took a small break from this book to read some other works in the meantime. Tchaikovsky’s prose is… extremely grating. I shouldn’t have to read someone using “chonky” as an honest-to-God adjective.

I have so many thoughts. I’m kind of obsessed.

So much of the language used is outdated with regard to gender identity. Not surprised. That being said, still intend to finish.

The writing is excellent so far. Now to see how the last half pans out…
