Wow, let me tell you the emotions I had so far. Chapter 3 starts out with Oliver being set to solitary after asking for extra food due to them being severely malnourished and they basically starved him and he had no real human interaction in which he started getting depressed and during the last few pages during this chapter his thoughts of he’d rather be killed or starved to death than be with this man is sad.

Wow, I’m absolutely in love with this book. I didn’t expect high expectations from this. Honestly. But after getting in a deep dive into the chapters it gives me a new insight of my own perspective of someone who’s also black and it makes me relate to Starr and I’m so emotionally invested and connected to her. I like how well written her emotions are it makes me feel those exact emotions also.
