Excellent. Stunning. Makes me want to read more of her! The magical realism is odd coming from a mid-century Englishwoman. Waaay ahead of her time, and a real treat.

Good but not great. It was a long pulp novel without great writing, no complex ideas, but it was compelling reading and I’m glad to have read this classic of horror.
