this shit is fucking killing me

she is so incredibly smart. reading her is like a million puzzle pieces clicking into new enlightening places

i was also a nonverbal teen freaked out by my inescapable transformation into womanhood

i have to read this very small books in very small increments because i get so anxious about what is going to happen to the doggy

if i had these people’s lives i would simply be happy. am i missing the point ??

i could get drunk on this prose style. also this guy is still crazy

i like the outer story and the inner stories and i am happy. i love calvino!

these are city-fairytales, each laden with some profound and subtle moral but all curiously absent of people. there are some references to inhabitants of each city, but the overall impression the reader gets is of a lone traveler wandering empty cityscapes.

i am more interested in how the city is shaped by people and how it shapes people. but i am really having fun regardless

i’m still upset at her for the way she talked about japanese cuisine and women

now she is in tokyo calling everything ugly and saying traditional japanese food is inedible and complaining about eating fish testicles and all sorts of nonsense and it is pissing me off because
1. i did not pick up this book to read a white woman complaining about japanese cuisine
2. it should be me in tokyo
