Main character is not that likable and also the smartest. It’s hard to root for him.

Restarting the whole book.

Yup, I have read this before. A long, long time ago. Won’t be finishing this reread.

I’m pretty sure I’ve read this before. There’s this one scene burned into my mind. I’ll know when I get to that part.

Did not finish! Well, I read the last part but skipped the majority of the book.

Started out good but I lost interest after the parents found out what the medicine is. At that point, it became predictable and repetitive. It wasn’t even scary. The characters were one-dimensional and rather dumb so didn’t care for any of them.

I am struggling with this book. In this world, humans lack common sense.

Stopping at 42%. Might go back to this if I’m in the mood for something emotional and heartbreaking. Right now, I want soothing spooky and scary.

Subjecting a baby to the dangerous situation they are in. Selfish couple. I’m close to hating the characters.

Reread in audiobook form. First read it early 2000 and rated it 3 stars. Let’s see if I’d feel different about it now.

I got used to the author’s voice/s. I’m hooked!

Stupid people acting and doing stupid things.

Lead character is a liar. She lets it get out of hand and says she feels bad but she keeps on lying. Not white lies but full on lies.

I owned and read Different Seasons a long, long, long time ago. Time for a reread but in an Audible format.

Too much slang. Is this how people talk during the 1920s? So over the top. The main character, Evie, is not easy to like.

Should have more background on Pa and why Alva is scared of him. He doesn’t sound like a murderer or even a bad person.
