It’s not got the depth of characters and strong prose of writers like Philippa Gregory, Alison weir or CJ Sansom, but it’s not as bad as some of the reviews suggest. There are some slightly childish plot points like Kelyng’s over the top love of animals that blinds his judgment, and the cartoonish stupidity of Bennet. Not terrible but I won’t go out of my way to find the rest of the series
