Wait...I can't get it out of my head that Sylas is Death...I have no evidence to back this up other than a gut feeling.

I'm enjoying all the talks about rhetoric. Not that I've ever studied rhetoric in depth, but this book makes me WANT to study rhetoric.

Gonna nitpick here. Scrubbing with hot water is not how you get blood off your skin. Gonna have a bad time.

Ugh, I'm getting anxiety about finishing the book. I know there is another book after this that isn't out yet, so no hea here. Waiting for the literary sword of damocles to drop is killing me.

The story of Caspia and Odessa take place at different times in the world. I'm feeling that Caspia is actually Odessa's mother from the last book.

It just feels like the book is trying to steer us in this direction. Cause surely someone would remark on the hair/eye color of Caspia in the castle if they also knew Odessa.

Why are the priest dudes all such cryptic jerks

I'm trying to remember people, but it's hard. Just names on a page for some of these.

I keep seeing things about this book, so time to give it a try.

I'm enjoying it so far, vibe reading it out. Wish they had dwelled more on the dying and coming back aspect, but it's more of a trauma plot device right now. Where MMC and FMC are trauma bonding over how fucked up they are.

Gonna read the rest of this while listening to Radiohead. I think it will improve the story 😂

I think I'll like this book.

I am intrigued by the premise. Very similar to Once Upon a Demon's Heart.

20 pages is all it took to overcome the problem caused by the end of book 4. 20.

Maybe the author wrote themselves into a corner and couldn't figure a different way out or something. Either way, seems to have been resolved too fast.
