i couldn’t get past the first two chapters why is there so many unnecessary words

no freaking way,,,, is the therapist the murderer??? he’s recalling his point of view and hers each chapter from when the murder happened, he’s the stalker boy! but why threaten the wife if he really cared about gabriel having an affair?? i’m confused
