Slow going since the book is part of a work book club! I thought the first 2 chapters could stand on their own and really explained the ideas / distinctions between a finite and infinite mindset well. The next 2 chapters seemed really theoretical and could have been condensed to a couple of paragraphs imo. Enjoying Sinek’s writing style and looking forward to the remainder of the book.

Some gems of quotes so far: “Little brother has out-matured me. I guess you can only grow so much when you’re stuck in the same place, like a houseplant that’s never been repotted.”

“I’ve learned you can get used to anything. Mom died right before my eyes, and though I’ll learn to accept it, I don’t think I’ll ever be ok again.”

“That’s how greetings are in times of despair: fragile.”

I am taking a pause on this series. It's great; just a little burnt out on the genre. I'm going to come back to it in June.

“Silence settled between them like mortar between bricks, more impossible to break the longer they left it.” I don’t love when a whole book is written this way, but I adore when illusory sentences are sprinkled throughout.

Setting my reading intention for 2024: Embracing mindfulness! Trading quantity for quality, prioritizing my shelves, finishing (every!) purchase. Fewer escapes, richer journeys, and exploring genres I've neglected the past few years. Here's to joy in every page! ✨

My library hold finally came in. I’m obsessed with Gornichec’s portrayal of these three young women already. Can’t wait to see where this story goes.

Smooth reference to the other titles “there are some things we never get over; some things we hide from the light.”

Michael's mom is the best character in this book.

That's right, babyyyy!! I'm re-reading a book I read earlier this year rather than tackle the TBR list I made for Sept / October. 🙃 Do I have the third book in this series (unread) on my physical shelf? Yes.

I do really like this book, though. Michael and Stella are such sweet opposites & I'm a sucker for fake dating tropes.
