It’s been interesting so far. Lots of focus on the Babylonians and European views on time, with casual mentions of African tribes and Egyptians, which I expected but also am disappointed by. It’s easier for me to grasp since the west follows the Gregorian calendar, but looking into historical Chinese views on time would’ve been cool since they were mentioned. Maybe later on!

The mention of current civilizations putting “modern” narratives/ideas onto historical sites, in an attempt to conceptualize and translate things into the way our current world understands things, is a super interesting and important thing to note when it comes to looking at things of the past.

Okay so why do I feel like A isn’t Toby anymore…but then who is??? I’m gonna search this shit up after I finish the book because there’s no way I’m reading like 14 more books of this
