This is one of the most depressing books I’ve ever read. The author seemed to have a check list of topics he wanted in this book even if they felt forced. The most interesting characters are the side characters. Also I really hate that a character stated they didn’t want to be a magical negro, but the mc kept thinking back to him and the book recommendat

Terrible. The main characters aren’t likable. Lights out should have been a stand alone or it should have been about other masked men.
