An elegant book. The "mapping" is more a map of the generations who lived on and worked the farm, near Rochester, MN, than it is of the land itself. John Hildebrand, the author, married into the fourth generation of the farm's family. No member of the fourth generation will be able to take over the farm when the third generation passes, and the book moves really well from the farm's history to the family's lives.
