Pushing incredibly hard not to DNF. Royo's POV is insufferable and the writing is overall very juvenile - all tell and no show, etc. Hard to believe this is supposed to be an adult fantasy.

Hunt being too big to wear underwear and Bryce wearing a red lace thong from the "whole unopened packs" found in the guest rooms of an ancient fae castle is the unintentionally funniest shit I've read in a long time. Jesus Christ, for real? I'm HOWLING.

Can't say I have high hopes for this one considering how much I disliked The Night Swim, but since I made the mistake of getting this in my BOTM box as well, I'll give Megan Goldin another chance.

"Ravyn's skin was rough, like the cover of a long-forgotten book." Oh YIKES. This book is...not good, and I'm surprised it has as many good reviews as it does, quite frankly. It's glaringly obvious what the "big reveal" is going to be and I'm only NOT DNFing this to see if I'm right.

Rereading while I wait for Hell Bent to make its way to me. Can't wait!

This is beautifully written so far, but man, Isaac is insufferable.

Only took until this point for me to ugly cry...jesus. This book is putting me through the emotional wringer, but it's brilliant.
