Rob Mcknight is reading The City We Became (Great Cities, #1)

This didn’t really work for me. Partly because the central concept is difficult to get your head around. Not that I didn’t understand it, it just didn’t make me want to learn more. And a big reason for that is that the energy coming off of the book is just sooooo … cliquish? As someone who is not a New Yorker, and more broadly not part of this writers community, I just felt, as a reader, unwelcome.
