A few discrepancies with some of the anthro, but other than that, very fascinating. It talks about how non-heteronormative lifestyles existed in land-based people and how Christian society destroyed the "magic" that once flourished in these various pagan cultures. I never knew too much about Joan of Arc (who was a trans witch, burned for wearing men's clothing) or her right-hand man Gilles de Rais, a gay sorceror.

Reading Truth and Power right now. Shit's good.. I have been reading it in small doses on breaks at an employer I have found temp work at. I then go back to my assembly line to sit and reflect and digest the last five or so pages I just read as I put together shit that is vital to the general functioning of the wheels of power.

This book's title leads one to believe that it is about "biopolitics", but so far has only covered theorists and economists of the schools of classical liberalism, ordoliberalism, neoliberalism, etc. It is still very informative and intriguing stuff. I sometimes have troubles following Foucault in his actual books, but because this was a transcript from public lectures, it is much more accessible.
