so NOW on page 295!!! does her mother finally tell her what i’ve been thinking throughout the whole book. i was with corie until she self sabotaged and broke up with everett but i guess conflict was needed.

corie’s mom is pissing me tf off! all she’s been doing is for the family and yeah she messes up a lot and i hated that she blamed gigi for her own tardiness at the pageant BUT yall need to let the girl find herself maybe she’s only messing up in relatability to your standards

so far the family feels so real except i’m not really familiar with pageant life so that part does feel otherworldly to me.

now we’re getting into the magic YES

atmosphere isn’t scary yet but it is SO GOOD. like you really get the sense of dread and shame that being in a home like this forces onto you. what an interesting premise honestly. can’t wait for the horror to kick in!

i already knew i probably wouldn’t enjoy this book just because of how instant and often the smut is BUT i’m mostly in it just for the experience of “monster romance.” also it works for meeting my end of the year quota for books read
