I enjoy the pacing and visual storytelling. The comic has very touching insights from time to time. Because of these lovely aspects, I'm very disappointed in the pervasive edginess and how the comic views some of its female characters. The worst example, a visual the reader can't escape: every member of the family is depicted as a simple scribble with one defining characteristic. The mother's are her comical breasts.

In this book, Banks does interaction between family members best. It's interesting to draw parallels between the character's parents and brother's behavior and what the dynamics of her own family as an adult are.
