it's rare to see a western author use supernatural elements and other metaphors to explore the trauma of racism and slavery (with motherhood as the central theme) and i've been thoroughly enjoying it so far

choosing gregory peck to play "Atticus" was the best decision anyone has ever made

i paused reading this book midway through a busy semester, which, in hindsight, wasn't the best decision :(
