Dnf I can’t stand this

It’s good but I’m 100 pages out and it’s getting redundant the plot is inching along and Lynette is too insufferable for me to take much more of this

Pg 133 and 4 separate characters already “read the narrators mind” in conversation.

The author has clearly never been to a Waffle House.

About halfway through and I really can’t see how we’re gonna make a whole book out of this premise with the speed at which we’re cycling through husbands. It’s already monotonous and no one stays around long enough to care about. also the mc’s attention is so focused on husbands we’re not learning about her actual life or anyone else’s.

I'm struggling to remember that this is set in modern day because everyone's acting like it's the 30s and no one seems even slightly suspicious that Molly is neurodivergent. I can already see where this plot is going and it's so frustrating because it's too unrealistic.
Also it's a really stereotypical portrayal of someone with autism and it's inconsistently used just to further the plot.

She can’t keep her characters straight

This book is somehow written in both second and third person. Why. It’s so hard to figure out what’s going on. Why aren’t we using quotation marks during dialogue?

We get it. She’s a trained doctor and nothing she does against the Jewish faith has any repercussions because she has noble intentions. Where’s the flavor?

The concept of internalizing the life of the things she eats is really interesting but is she going to do anything about jt? Use it as inspo? Does anything actually happen in this book?

This book is just one big weird flex of the authors knowledge of Ancient Greek and Cambridge. And it’s so painfully obvious.

This man clearly forgot what normal human interaction is during the panini. Like…it’s so bad.

Has the author ever interacted with another human ever in his life?
